As prescribed by the Cabinet Regulation No. 895 “Regulations regarding certification of seafarers” , any candidate for qualification shall have completed relevant training programmes. The training programmes as appropriate for each qualification are listed in Annex 9 “Special Competency Requirements According to the Qualification of the Seafarer” of aforementioned Cabinet Regulation No. 895.
Currently there are 7 maritime educational and training institutions where training programmes for seafarers can be acquired.
