Authorisation
Enterprises engaged in shipbuilding, modernisation and repair are certified by the Maritime Safety Inspectorate of the Maritime Administration of Latvia in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 2 of the Cabinet Regulation No. 49 Adopted 29 January 2008 “Regulations Regarding the Safety of Ships” and Chapter 1.3 of the Cabinet Regulation No. 248 Adopted 28 March 2006 “Regulations Regarding the Safety of Sea Fishing Vessels”.
The companies performing maintenance and inspections of ship safety equipment are certified by the Maritime Safety Inspectorate of the Latvian Maritime Administration in accordance with the requirements of Cabinet Regulation No. 34 Adopted 17 January 2017 Regulations Regarding the Marine Equipment.

Inspections
Inspections of enterprises are carried out annually during a period of 3 months prior to and up to and including the annual date of validity of the certificate.
