Pleasure crafts used in commercial activities are registered in the Ship Register of Maritime Administration of Latvia . Recreational crafts registered with the CSDD are not allowed to be used for commercial activities.
Self-built recreational crafts may not be used for commercial activities. In order for a self-built recreational craft to be used for commercial activities, a post-construction assessment of the recreational craft must be carried out and, if necessary, a recreational craft conversion must be carried out.
A recreational craft that is engaged in commercial activities must have a valid Recreational Craft Trade Certificate. The Coast Guard Service of the Navy, the State Border Guard, the State and Municipal Police, as well as inspectors of the Maritime Safety Inspection of the Maritime Administration of Latvia are entitled to inspect this certificate.
Recreational crafts used in commercial activities are subject to periodic inspections, which must be carried out once every two years.
